Setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication is a security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your eHour account. It requires a verification code generated by an authenticator app, along with your password, to grant access to your account. This means that even if someone gets hold of your password, they still won't be able to access your account without the unique code generated by the authenticator app.

To enable 2FA, you will need to download an authenticator app on your phone like Apple Passkeys or Duo Mobile. We recommend the use of a Hardware Security Key like Yubikey for enhanced security.

How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication

First, sign in to your eHour account and navigate to your profile by clicking the icon on the right in the top navigation bar.

In your profile, navigate to the "Two-Factor Authentication" tab and click the "Enable 2FA" button.

Scan the QR code with your authentication app and enter the verification code from your device.

2FA is enabled once you enter the valid verification code. You can also disable the extra layer of security if you wish to do so.

After enabling Two-Factor Authentication, you will need to enter a verification code during login.

Help, I cannot sign in!

If you are unable to sign in using your verification code because you have lost your hardware key or removed the authentication app, kindly request your manager to disable the two-factor authentication for your account.

To find the option for troubleshooting login issues, you need to go to the "Manage Users" section and look for the "Trouble logging in?" option.
