Add a new Task

Tasks are always associated with a project. To add a new task

  • Navigate to Manage, Project
  • Look up the Project you want to add the task to
  • Click on the Add Task button.
  • Enter a descriptive name for the task
  • Click Save Task, and in the next screen, add the user or teams you want to assign to this task

Rename a Task

  1. Click on Manage
  2. Look up the Project the Task belongs to in the list of active projects or search using the search box.
  3. In the list of Tasks & Assignments, click on the Task name.
  4. Rename the task and click Save task to save any changes.

Delete or Archive a Task

You can delete Tasks that have no hours tracked on them. When hours are added to a Task, you can archive it to keep any existing hours but prevent users from tracking new hours on the task.
You can always restore an archived task, allowing users to track hours again. Deleted tasks cannot be restored, and they are gone forever.

  1. Navigate to the Project the Task belongs to.
  2. In the list of Tasks & Assignments, click on the Task name.
  3. Use the Delete button or Archive button. The Archive option is only shown when hours were already added.

Restore an Archived Task

An Admin, Manager, or Project Manager can restore archived Tasks. Restoring an archived Task allows assigned Users to track hours again on the task.

To restore a Task
  1. Click on Manage
  2. Look up the Project the Task belongs to in the list of active projects or search using the search box.
  3. In the Tasks and Assignments list, click "View archived, inactive tasks and assignments".
  4. Find and click on the task you want to restore. In the popup, use the Restore option.

Edit a Template Task

If you wish to rename or remove a task that was created using a template, it must be first disconnected from that template. After disconnecting the task, you can make changes to it as needed.

To disconnect

  1. Navigate to the Project the Task belongs to.
  2. In the list of Tasks & Assignments, click on the Task name.
  3. Click Disconnect Task. The task is now a 'normal' project task and editable.
